The significance of 40 days
Why 40 days? In Islamic tradition, 40 is a number of deep spiritual significance.
It is the period after which the soul enters the body in the womb (as mentioned in sahih hadith).
Musa عليه السلام spent 40 days on Mount Sinai. Modern habit science confirms:
consistent behaviour for 40+ days rewires the brain's neural pathways.
The 40 Prayers Hadith: It is narrated that whoever prays 40 prayers in congregation
without missing the opening takbeer (Allahu Akbar) will receive two freedoms — freedom from the hellfire
and freedom from hypocrisy. (Musnad Ahmad, graded Hasan)
Your intention: Even if you are repaying Kaza prayers,
building a daily habit of prayer is a separate and equally important act of worship.
This challenge is for those who want to build the habit from scratch.
